The side meeting will centre around a collection of articles curated for The Lancet Regional Health – Southeast Asia. The series aims to synthesize insights from country experiences and chart a strategic path forward for addressing NCDs in the South-East Asia Region. The lead authors of the papers will convene at the side meeting to underscore the principal findings, contributing to the establishment of an evidence base for the prevention and control of NCDs. This initiative represents a pivotal step towards advancing the collective effort to combat NCDs in the region.
To continue the dialogue on strengthening integrated Primary Health Care (PHC) to address NCDs including mental health and aging post-United Nations General Assembly and the Seventy-eighth Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia
To add to the knowledge pool on practical solutions on moving forward on NCDs including mental health and aging, especially in resource constraint settings with the double burden of communicable and non-communicable disease (as well as an unfinished Maternal and Child Health (MCH) agenda).
To initiate a network for technical and operational support across regions to move forward on integrated PHC for Universal Health Coverage).
