Dr. Sara Causevic is a global health policy expert working at the intersection of health systems, diplomacy, and equity. She works at the Public Health Agency of Sweden, where she contributes to work on antimicrobial resistance and health system resilience in Ukraine, and is participating in PMAC in her individual capacity.
Sara has contributed to high-level initiatives with the World Bank, UNFPA, ECDC, and the private sector, including serving as a Commissioner on the Lancet Commission on Peaceful Societies through Health Equity and Gender Equality. Her career spans research, policy development, and strategic advisory roles, bridging health systems, diplomacy, and equity. She is a co-founder of Women in Global Health Sweden and an advisor on climate and health for the Wellcome Trust.
Sara’s expertise lies in translating complex global health challenges into actionable strategies that foster dialogue among science, policy, and practice. At PMAC 2026, she will draw on her experience to facilitate inclusive, forward-looking discussions that drive meaningful change.
Sara holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) and a Master's degree in Global Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK). She was also a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (USA).
