Dr. Issarang Nuchprayoon is a Professor of Pediatrics at Chulalongkorn University and Secretary General of the Wishing well foundation, Bangkok, Thailand. Graduated MD in 1988 from the Chulalongkorn university, Dr. Nuchprayoon went to the USA for Pediatric residency and pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship training, obtained Ph.D. in molecular biology and American Board certifications. Dr. Nuchprayoon became a faculty at the department of Pediatrics, Chulalongkorn University, faculty of Medicine, since 1997. His research interests include G6PD deficiency, snake venom, thalassemia, and pediatric oncology, with 92 international publications. Dr. Nuchprayoon started palliative care work in 2005, established Wishing well foundation to fulfill wishes for cancer children, run cancer camp, and pioneered home palliative care service for Thailand. Since 2013, he retired from pediatric oncology and devoted full-time in palliative service out of Chulalongkorn hospital, and has expanded from pediatric cancer to non-cancer children and adult cancer patients. Dr. Nuchprayoon is currently vice president of THAPS (Thai palliative care society), and recently founded another non-profit organization, Yuenyen social enterprise, in 2018 to provide home hospice care service for Bangkok and vicinity, and co-founded the Thai Cancer Society (Thai cancer network foundation), a unified cancer patient support group in 2020. He was an international scholar of the Pain Masterclass at the Children’s hospital of Minnesota, 2015. He and the Wishing well foundation are members of CCI, APHN, ICPCN, CHI, IASP, and UICC.
