Dr. Muthoni Karanja is a distinguished public health expert specializing in health systems strengthening and infectious disease management. Currently serving as Directorate Head of Kenya's Human Resource for Health Advisory Council (KHHRAC), she leads health workforce policy and systems strengthening at national and subnational levels. She is a prolific researcher with publications in high-impact journals, a peer reviewer, and holds memberships in professional organizations, including the Kenya Medical Association and Consortium of Universities for Global Health. She is a global fellow for Women Lift Health. Outside of work, she enjoys community service as a member of Rotary International, photography, and nature walks.
