Shintaro Nakamura has been serving JICA as Senior Advisor on Social Security since 2010. He has been involved in various JICA projects on aging, social welfare, social insurance, and UHC, including the project on long-term care services for older adults (LTOP) in Thailand, the project on developing social security experts in Indonesia, and the projects on community care for older persons in Chile and Mexico. He also leads JICA’s Knowledge Co-creation Program, “Policies and Practices in an Aging Society: Creating Age-Inclusive Community,” organized annually, inviting officials of low- and middle-income countries. Additionally, he has been serving as a domestic case selection committee member for The Healthy Aging Prize for Asian Innovation (HAPI) since its inception. His other professional experiences include working for the Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
