Monire-Therese Bassir is the Regional Programme Specialist at UNFPA Asia and the Pacific Regional Office, where she supports the implementation of the regional programme with a focus on knowledge management, innovation, and disability inclusion. She has over 25 years of experience with the UN, primarily with UNFPA, and has also led UNICEF Iran’s Health and Nutrition team. A physician by training and a graduate of Aachen Medical University in Germany, Monire brings deep expertise in programme design, monitoring, and inter-agency collaboration to advance inclusive and evidence-based development across the region.
