Fatou Wurie is a global health and innovation strategist and the Founder & CEO of Youterus Health, Africa’s first uterine health company transforming how uterine, hormonal, and gynecological conditions are understood, financed, and treated. Earlier in her career, she served as Regional Advocacy Advisor for Maternal Health at MamaYe/Options Consultancy, leading campaigns that influenced national health budgets and strengthened accountability across six African countries. During the Ebola outbreak, she founded the Survivor Dream Project, supporting women and girls who survived Ebola through psychosocial care, dignity, and reintegration. She later held global innovation and advisory roles with UNICEF, where she co-developed the COVID-19 chatbot reaching over 50 million users and leveraged technology to better understand community needs and develop responsive solutions in humanitarian contexts. Her work advanced digital engagement across 20+ offices, amplifying women’s and girls’ safety, voice, and participation in both humanitarian and development settings. Fatou has also worked with governments, civil society organizations, the WHO Foundation, and the African Development Bank, where she served as a Mo Ibrahim African Leader Fellow. A Harvard DrPH candidate and University of Oxford alumna, she is a TEDx speaker and Aspen Impact West Africa mentor, dedicated to equipping African women and girls to lead the next frontier of innovation, health equity, and systems change.
