Wasiq Khan is a public health professional with over 24 years of experience across the World Health Organization, government agencies, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations. Holding a doctorate in public health, Wasiq has received leadership training from leading global institutions such as Harvard and Johns Hopkins University. He has led implementation of initiatives of national, regional, and global significance, focusing on infectious diseases, epidemics and pandemics, global health, and health systems. Some of this work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including The Lancet and the BMJ. Besides leading teams, Wasiq has designed academic and professional development programs with leading institutions such as the UN Systems Staff College, with over 30,000 participants completing four of his online courses hosted on OpenWHO.org. He is a contributor to international conferences as a researcher, co-organizer, and participant. Wasiq has supervised postgraduate students, and maintain affiliations with several professional public health associations.
