Suriwan Thaiprayoon earned her doctoral degree from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom in 2014, Master of International Public Health (Honours) from the University of Sydney, Australia in 2006, and a Bachelor Degree in Nursing Science from the Police Nursing College, Thailand in 1992. Her main interests include global health diplomacy, global health governance, and international trade and health. Suriwan served as a technical assistant on global health to the Thai Minister of Public Health from September 2014 to September 2015. She was a key contributor of the Thailand Global Health Action Plan 2021- 2027 and provides technical supports to concerned agencies regarding the implementation of the Global Health Action Plan. She also represented Thailand in various regional and global governing body meetings, including ASEAN SOMHD, APEC Health Working Group, WHO Executive Board meeting and World Health Assembly. Suriwan is currently a deputy director and international health policy specialist of the Global Health Division, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand. Her roles are providing technical support to health policy makers and overseeing bilateral and international health cooperation.
