Chalermpol is the current Director of the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, Thailand, and serves as an Associate Professor. He holds a Doctor of Area Studies (with a concentration in Economics) from Kyoto University, Japan, and earned both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Economics. His recent work and research interests focus on population ageing and the elderly, generational economic transfers (National Transfer Accounts: NTA), and cross-border migration in Thailand, with particular attention to migrant health, access to rights, health systems, and health policy, along with other key topics in population studies.
