Edren Mejia Llanillo is a young, mission-driven public servant who empowers the youth to build a healthier and more disaster resilient communities. He is the co-founder of the Go Bike Project, a grassroots initiative that was recognised in the Philippines and in abroad. His work encompasses youth leadership, public health, governance, and disaster risk reduction and management, collaborating with various local governments and international developmental organizations. Edren is a Mass Communication graduate who became a development professional and holds an executive certification in Bridging Leadership from the Asian Institute of Management. He is also the founder of PadyaKaisipan, a mental health advocacy program, and ALWAR (Association of Learners Working on Altruism and Resilience), which institutionalized proactive youth engagement in disaster preparedness and resilience across various schools in the Philippines. To manage all of these advocacies, he served as the Executive Director of Padyarescue Incorporated from 2021 to 2025. In 2022, he is awarded as the Region’s “Outstanding Volunteer Awardee” of the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency and NEDA Region 1. Two years after, he is also awarded as the country’s “Resilience Champion” by the Climate Change Commission and the Office of Senator Loren Legarda. Most recently, his initiative for the elderly, the Ronda Kalusugan Program, is awarded internationally as the Grand Prize Winner of the Healthy Aging Prize for Asian Innovation Awards given by the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE) the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). Edren’s story was amplified by various TV Programs, blogs, and news portals, including Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, Rappler, Philippine Star and NHK World Japan. His public narrative took him to public office. He formerly served as the SK Chairperson of Brgy. Umanday from 2018-2023 and he realized that he had to lose his bid last 2022 elections in order for him to showcase his resiliency and leadership capacity this 2025. Today, he is the youngest Councilor of the Municipality of Bugallon challenging the status quo and practicing Adaptive and Bridging leadership styles for his community to thrive. He continues to develop future youth leaders through his change projects and works tirelessly for the benefit of everyone. Outside his political and professional life, Edren is a proud “Laking Lola” or raised by a grandmother, who continously rove around his community with his bicycle, all for a more sustainable, resilient, and future-ready, communities for all.
